Wheelchair or scooter seat belts are used for positioning only. While a wheelchair or scooter seat belt may keep you in your wheelchair or scooter seat, it should NEVER be used as a motor vehicle restraint. When riding in a motor vehicle, always make sure your wheelchair or scooter is properly secured to the vehicle and you are properly secured using an approved restraint from the vehicle, not from the wheelchair or scooter.
