Benefits of Aero-Flex™ Solid Urethane Wheelchair Tires
The Aero-Flex™ material is made up of thousands of microscopic honeycomb-like cells formed by a matrix of a tough urethane elastomer. Benefits are many including:
Low rolling resistance making the wheelchair easier to propel
The Aero-Flex™ material provides excellent shock absorbing properties for a superior ride
Excellent load bearing capacity - ideal for standard to bariatric (high weight capacity) wheelchairs
Lasts 2-3 times longer than standard air filled nylon tires
Outstanding resistance to cutting and tearing
Completely flat free - no more worries about nails, glass, or pinch flats
22 x 1 3/8 in. (37-501) Aero-Flex™ Urethane Wheelchair Street Tire Fitment Notes
This tire will fit most 489 and 501 mm sized wheelchair rims. You’ll know you have one of these rims if your existing tire size is 22 x 1” (25-489 mm), 22 x 1” (25-501 mm), or 22 x 1 3/8” (37-501 mm). You can confirm the size by looking at the size stamped on your existing tire. In most cases your rim will also have a hole for an inner tube valve stem (meaning the rim is of a standard size). If your existing tire is not stamped with the 489 or 501 mm size, this tire will most likely not fit.
Installation Note – Please Read Before Purchase
Installing these tires onto a wheelchair rim can be very challenging without the proper tools. This is because the tire itself is smaller than the wheelchair rim and needs to be stretched onto the rim. If you do not have the ability or the tools to properly install these tires, it is advisable to seek professional help. You cannot install this tire by hand! Please note that EnableYourLife.com will only accept returns of undamaged / uninstalled tires.
If you have a properly mounted bench vise, you can purchase a solid tire installation tool which can be found on these pages:
