Fitment Notes
This tire will fit most 540 mm sized wheelchair rims. You’ll know you have a 540 mm rim if the existing tire size is 24 x 1” (23-540 mm), 24 x 1” (25-540 mm), 24 x 1 1/4” (32-540 mm), 24 x 1 3/8” (37-540 mm). You can confirm the size by looking at the size stamped on your existing tire. In most cases your rim will also have a hole for an inner tube valve stem (meaning the rim is of a standard size). If your existing tire is a pyramid design (smooth flat top) on a plastic rim, or is not stamped with the 540 mm size, this tire will most likely not fit. This tire will replace most tires used on Quickie, Top End (Invacare), TiLite, or any other wheelchair where the rim has a hole for a valve stem. It will also fit most rims including rims from Spinergy, Primo, and X-Core that have a hole for an inner tube valve stem.
Installation Note – Please Read Before Purchase
Installing these tires onto a wheelchair rim can be very challenging without the proper tools. This is because the tire itself is smaller than the wheelchair rim and needs to be stretched onto the rim. If you do not have the ability or the tools to properly install these tires, it is advisable to seek professional help. You cannot install this tire by hand! Please note that EnableYourLife.com will only accept returns of undamaged / uninstalled tires.
If you have a properly mounted bench vise, you can purchase a solid tire installation tool which can be found on these pages:
great price for a great, proven set of tires..., December 29, 2022 By jerzy (Park Ridge, NJ)(Verified)
just purchased the set of those 2 tires to replace the ones [identical make/model/size of tires] on my manual quickie 2 chair which i've also originally ordered on my chair when it was new from the vendor, about 8 years ago... so they've lasted this long [albeit with a completely erased tread pattern as of about 5 years ago] sans any issues...
used a local bicycle shop to have them mounted on my wheelchair rims, one of the old ones on the left side actually fell apart after it was removed so it was high time to have these tires replaced...
ever since discovering kevlar filled tires about 25 years ago then later solid urethane tires, i haven't looked back and bothered to use pneumatic tires... some prefer aired tires for a more comfortable/softer ride but to me the hassle of regularly re-airing such due to natural deflation over time and relatively frequent punctures due to running over glass/sharp objects or just simply due to age, make the completely hassle free solid type of tires the only choice for me...
these new tires arrived within 3-4 days of placing my order and the price for the set of those 2 tires was much lower than it was when i specced my most recent wheelchair out from the local vendor at the wheelchair clinic about 8 years ago, so i'm completely satisfied with this product and your online store... the bike shop charged me $30 for mounting the pair on my chair rims and took about 3 hours to do this after i had the rims with the old tires dropped off at their location...
i'm now set trouble free with tires for at least the next 5 years or more at total cost of under $100 [although will likely replace my chair within the next year's time as it's becoming quite rickety]... thanks...
