Which High Pressure Inner Tube Valve Style to Choose?
This 25-590 (26 x 1 in.) inner tube is available with either a schrader valve or presta (French) valve. The schrader valve is a more universal design found on most bicycle tires, car tires, utility carts, golf carts, etc., while the presta valve (or French valve) is the more slender valve with a plunger under the cap that unscrews to allow air to be pumped in (you need an air pump capable of pumping presta valves). Presta valves are commonly found on racing bicycles because of their slender design. Since both inner tubes are identical (except for the valve), the choice depends on what type of air pump you have.
