Multi-Axis Amputee Stump Support Installation
This amputee support for wheelchairs comes with a multi-axis mounting bracket that has 3 pivot points and attaches to any 7/8" or 1" tubing using the supplied hardware and hex keys. In addition to the 3 pivot points, the back of the amputee support pad has several mounting points for the mounting ball. The bracket can be attached to the wheelchair frame or footrest assembly. If using the wheelchair footrest assembly and it is a swing away model, then the amputee support pad will also swing out of the way. This amputee support can mount on either the right or left side of the wheelchair. Note it is highly advisable to have the user sit in the wheelchair and experiment with different mounting locations to find the best place. You can read the installation instructions here.
Shown at left is the stump support mounted to the swing away footrest assembly of the wheelchair. Mounting it this way enables the stump support to swing out of the way with the footrest. The stump support can also be mounted directly to the wheelchair frame for a fixed mounting (as shown above).
Since the goal is user comfort, it is advisable to dry mount the pad in several locations to determine the best place prior to actually installing.
Important Notes
The Amputee Stump Support is designed to support an amputated leg. The Amputee Support is NOT designed to support the weight of an entire body during transfer, or the weight of a caregiver. The support pad is height adjustable to match the height of your existing seat cushion, therefore no seat cushion is included.

Multi-Axis Amputee Stump Support for (travel power) Wheelchair, April 20, 2023 By Anonymous (Menasha, WI)(Verified)
I purchased the small 5" x 8" pad without cover. This does work for my travel power wheelchair; HOWEVER, it was challenging to mount it. Partly because of the chair design and partly because of the stump support rod being too short by about 3 inches. I had to improvise in order to make it work and mount it to a curved part of the chair frame, which then threw the angle off. It is not perfect, but so far, it is working well and has not collapsed or fallen apart. I did have to max tighten screws to hold it in place. It would be perfect if the support rod was about 3 inches longer. There was no length mentioned in the description, so I took a chance on it.
Works well on invacare wheelchair, March 18, 2014 By Tony B. (Hershey, PA)
Attached without any issues to my fathers wheelchair. We purchased the additional gel pad, however my father preferred not to use it liking the smooth pad by itself instead. Excellent value for the money
