TheraBand® Hand Exerciser Variable Resistance
Each of the 5 colors represents progressively firmer resistance for the hands, fingers and forearms. The available colors are:
Yellow - 1.5 lbs. of force at 50% compression (model 26020)
Red - 3 lbs. of force at 50% compression (model 26030)
Green - 5 lbs. of force at 50% compression (model 26040)
Blue - 8 lbs. of force at 50% compression (model 26050)
Black - 17 lbs of force at 50% compression (model 26060)
The softer yellow and red models fill the gap between putty and spring devices and they're not as messy as putty. Progressive resistance in different levels of compression allow each exercise to be geared to the patient.
TheraBand® Hand Exerciser - Hot or Cold
You can place a Hand Exerciser into the microwave or refrigerator for hot or cold use. Heat therapy dilates and expands blood vessels at the application site. As a result, blood flow to the affected area is increased, which promotes healing, increases flexibility, and provides pain relief. In contrast, cold therapy constricts blood vessels. As a result of this, blood flow is decreased, which helps reduce pain, swelling, inflammation, and bruising.
