You'll also want to measure the footplate on the wheelchair to make sure the shoe holder can be mounted to the footplate (note the screw hole locations). Keep in mind that the shoe holder will most likely stick out past the footplate which is normal. If your wheelchair has a single footplate or footboard (one board for both feet), make sure the overall width of both shoe holders (the size you select) will fit on the footboard.
Therafin Deluxe Wheelchair Molded Shoe Holder with Padded Straps Installation
In most cases, holes will have to be drilled into the footplate or footboard. It is highly advisable to dry fit the holders with the user seated in the wheelchair prior to making any holes. You can use some masking tape to hold them in place. The included screws may not work for every installation so a trip the hardware store may be in order. Remember at the end of the day it is about user comfort so the location of the holes can vary.
